Waves crashed all around and near your body The waves came all over you And I saw the sky reflected on the ocean Deadly blue Yeah, I used to know you I used to know you I used to know you I used to know you I used to know you
Comments by John Darnielle About this Song[]
- "I write these songs where people say a lot of horrible things to one another. This song, which has never been played live to the best of my knowledge—I really think the guy goes out of his way to say something terrible. But it doesn't sound that terrible. He is sort of a ninja of saying terrible things. He feels like 'I'm gonna say something that sounds like it's really not that much, and then a year or so from now, when you won't be able to find me, you'll realize what I said to you, and you'll wanna slap me, but by that time, you won't know where I'm at. So hey, what's up?'" -- 2007-09-21 - Sonar - Baltimore, MD
